San Pellegrino district

This is where the Nazareth Residence is located. The oldest and largest medieval quarter best preserved in Europe, for this reason declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its thirteenth-century palaces and tower-houses, small fortresses designed to defend the citizens, completely built in basalt and peperino. To visit the "Papal Palace", the "Piazza del Duomo", the district of "San Pellegrino" with its original floor in volcanic stone.

The Baths of the Popes and the Bullicame

A few meters away, you can visit the "Terme dei Papi", already frequented in ancient times first by the Etruscans and then by the Romans thanks to the benefits brought by the thermal waters and mud. The thermal baths are fed by the "Bullicame", an ancient source of natural sulphurous waters which come out at a temperature of 58°C. from a fracture in the earth's crust. The current name "Terme dei Papi" is due to Pope Nicholas V who in 1450 AD. he wanted to have a palace built there to stay during his spa treatments

Villa Lante of Bagnaia

Definitely one of the most beautiful parks in Italy, with an area of 22 hectares of Italian garden and water games, fed by a stream that flows from the rock, crossing terraces and many fountains up to the great "Fontana dei Mori" ". 
Villa Lante was designed in the sixteenth century by the architect Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola. the gardens are dominated by two buildings called "casinos", almost identical, even if wanted by different owners 30 years apart from each other.

The Monster Park of Bomarzo

In the heart of Tuscia in Viterbo is the "Sacro Bosco di Bomarzo" or "Parco dei Mostri" built around the 15th century. A.D. by the architect Ligorio Pirro commissioned by Prince Pier Francesco Orsini. A walk in a truly surreal and grotesque forest where you will meet gigantic monsters and mythological animals carved in stone.
