The Via Francigena, Francisca or Romea, is part of a bundle of routes, also called via romee, which fromWestern Europe, in particular from France, led into the South Europe up to Rome then continuing towards the Puglia, where there were the ports of embarkation for the Holy Land, half of pilgrims and say crusaders[1].

In 1994 was declared "European Cultural Route" assuming, like the Way of Santiago de Compostelaa supranational dignity.
